Samsung is suspending all sales of its Galaxy Note 7, its newest smartphone, because the batteries can explode while charging.

Samsung says it has sold 2.5 million Note 7s since the product’s launch two weeks ago and the reviews have been great. Well, great except for the 35 confirmed cases of phones catching fire or blowing up while charging. That’s a bit of a downer.

A Samsung spokesperson said: “To date there have been 35 cases that have been reported globally and we are currently conducting a thorough inspection with our suppliers to identify possible affected batteries in the market. However, because our customers’ safety is an absolute priority at Samsung, we have stopped sales of the Galaxy Note 7.”

There have been no reports of injuries related to the problem.

The Korean company said it expected it would take two weeks to prepare replacement devices. Customers who already bought the Note 7 will be able to swap it for a new phone with a non-exploding battery.
