A tutor at Quest University has won a teaching fellowship.

Dr. Glen Van Brummelen, a Mathematics Curriculum Coordinator and Founding Tutor at Quest is the first faculty member from the institution to claim the honor of a 3M National Teaching Fellowship.

In a release the university says each year 10 university and college professors from across the country are chosen for a combination of their excellence in classroom teaching and their educational leadership to join the 3M National Teaching Fellowship. According to the release Van Brummelen’s mantra is “I don’t teach mathematics; I teach students”.

Quest says it’s the premier award for higher education in Canada. Van Brummelen joins a fellowship of over 300 dedicated teachers and leaders. He has now become a life member of the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education and the Council of 3M Teaching Fellows.
