Whistler is the latest community to be hit by election sign vandalism. In recent weeks several communities have seen election signs damaged in the Metro Vancouver area.

A total of 7 BC Liberal Party signs have been vandalized in the resort community, with at least one sign damaged on two occasions. Nicola Bentley with Jordan Sturdy’s Campaign Team says several of the large signs were pushed over and thrown into bushes over a period of 4 days. Several lawn signs have also gone missing in Pemberton according to Bentley.

BC Liberal Party campaign teams have now repaired and replaced the signs and have notified Whistler RCMP. Police say they are investigating signs that have been detached from their posts. They say it is not know if it is one or multiple people responsible for the damage as there were no witnesses.

So far only the BC Libertarian Party has confirmed that they have not yet put up any signs in Whistler, and so have not been affected. No other parties with candidates running in the Sea to Sky corridor have confirmed if their signs have been damaged.
