The body of a missing Australian National has been located in a Whistler lake.

Whistler RCMP have confirmed that they received a report from members of the public on March 16th, 2018 at approximately 7.30 p.m. of what they believed to be human remains within the lake. RCMP, Whistler Fire Rescue and the BC Coroners Service attended and confirmed that human remains had been found at the north end of the partially frozen Alpha Lake.

Police have confirmed that the body is that of Allison Raspa who was reported missing in the Alpha Lake area on November 23rd, 2017. The cause of death has not been confirmed, however RCMP say it does not appear suspicious. Police are continuing to assist the BC Coroners Service which is in the early stages of its fact-finding investigation to determine the cause of death.

The deceased’s family in Australia has been notified and the BC Coroners Service will be engaged with the family moving forward.
