Whistler’s International Day of the Girl Celebration!

When

Oct 13

Details

In celebration of International Day of the Girl, three exceptional women will share stories that celebrate the power, creative voices, and unique place of girls in this world.

Their stories challenge us to step up, speak out, and make a change.

The event takes place at the Rainbow Theatre, inside the Whistler Conference Centre, on Friday, October 13 from 7:30-10pm.

This year’s speakers include Canadian Astronaut Candidate, pro-mountain biker, and 2017 Google Impact Challenge winner, Anita Naidu, cyberbullying survivor, youth advocate, and medical innovator, Vivian Tsang, and teen transgender activist and one of Vancouver’s 50 Most Influential People, Tru Wilson.

The event raises money for the Howe Sound Women’s Centre and One Horizon and includes a silent auction table where event-goers have the chance to bid on items from Lululemon, The Great Glass Elevator, Whistler Golf Club, Whistler Blackcomb, and many more local partners.

Doors and silent auction table open at 7:30pm and talks start at 8pm sharp with MC Tara O’Doherty. For more information on the speakers and to follow the event for updates register for the event on Facebook.
