The fourth annual GO Fest, Whistler’s Great Outdoors Festival, returns on the Victoria Day Long Weekend.

Come and spend four days trying different outdoors activities in a beautiful outdoor setting.

Get outside and celebrate the convergence of summer and winter at GO Fest, May 19 – 22, 2017.

Forged Axe Throwing – Friday, May 19

Who doesn’t love a primal thrill here and there? Get that plaid flannel into its natural habitat from noon to 4 p.m. at Whistler’s new axe throwing facility in Function Junction.

Wine About Art at the Crystal Lodge Gallery –  Friday, May 19

This hands-on painting experience is so Bob Ross, but with wine instead of…umm, never mind. Sip, relax, paint and laugh while an artist guides you through techniques to create your painting from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Under An Arctic Sky Film with Speaker Chris Burkard – Saturday, May 20

As part of the Whistler Film Festival Adventure Film Series, “Under an Arctic Sky” will have its Whistler premiere on Saturday, May 20 at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Director and Instagram super-influencer Chris Burkard, who has over 2.6 million followers, will introduce the film with an inspiring presentation.

Digital Camera Photography Workshop – Saturday, May 20

If you didn’t post it on Instagram, did it really happen? This Digital Photography Workshop, taught by Jeff Boyce of Photography Whistler, will give participants hands-on experience in the field with their digital cameras so they can master photo techniques that will elevate their shots to #instagood status.

Alpine Dogs Training Tips & Tricks – Sunday, May 21

What’s cooler than a dog? A well-trained dog. Learn some party tricks, and tips for a well behaved dog at training sessions starting at noon and going until 4 p.m. Bring your leashed pooch along and meet at the Florence Peterson Park beside the Library. Proceeds from donations will go to Whistler Animals Galore.

River of Golden Dreams self-guided tour – Saturday, May 20 and Sunday, May 21

“This weekend I floated down the River of Golden Dreams.” Can you beat that “humble brag”? No, you cannot. GO Fest Free Concert Series

On the free concert front, 54•40 will launch the live music series planned for GO Fest at 7:30 p.m. on Friday night, May 19, as they perform from their incredible catalogue of hit songs. On Saturday, May 20, at 3 p.m., MAZACOTE, will lay down some world dance party vibes before breakout indie band The Zolas, follows later that night at 7:30 p.m. On Sunday, May 21 up and comers //AMISTAD// will play at 3 p.m. followed by the instantly recognizable sounds of Dear Rouge. The duo will wind up GO Fest Whistler’s May Long weekend, free concert series, in Village Square at 7:30 p.m.
