The Sunshine Coast Fixed Link feasibility study will take place over the next few weeks.

For years, many residents, businesses and stakeholders have been advocating for a fixed link to replace the existing ferry service between the Lower Mainland and the Sunshine Coast.

The public will now have the opportunity to offically way in on the possiblity. The study’s purpose is to assess the costs and benefits of possible overland connections and bridge crossings between the Coast and Lower Mainland, identify the financial and physical feasibility of constructing a fixed link and provide benefits and impacts analysis of potential fixed link scenarios.

Open houses will start in Squamish on Tuesday at the Squamish Valley Golf Club between 4-8pm. Locations will also include West Vancouver, Powell River, Sechelt and Gibsons.

An online survey will also be available when the first open house kicks off. The deadline for all public feedback is November 8th, 2016. You can view possible fixed link scenarios here: Scenarios Map
