Squamish will soon see a new collaborative facility that will provide the community centralized access to food, shelter and support services.

The new facility is a partnership between the District of Squamish, Squamish Helping Hands Society and the Squamish Food Bank. Anticipated amenities will include transitional and low barrier housing, affordable housing units, a community food hub, community drop in centre, social enterprise such as café/bakery, laundromat as well as a health related space for community physicians.

The facility will be located downtown at 3rd & Main in a former fire hall provided to Squamish Helping Hands Society by the District of Squamish.

On Saturday, ‘Crave – Dining for Dignity’, a fundraiser to support this project and ongoing services was held at the West Coast Railway Heritage Park. Early estimates show $45,000 was raised at the event that saw 32 performers, 50 volunteers and 240 guests in attendance.
