It’s very unusual for the ‘Bachelor’ franchise to announce the next lead, while that person is still on the current season…but that’s what has happened here.

Rachel Lindsay, is still vying for the current Bachelor Nick Viall’s heart, but has already been announced as the next Bachelorette, which means she does NOT end up with Nick.
