Squamish RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a dangerous driver.

Police say on June 13th just before 3pm a Toyota 4Runner was traveling northbound on Highway 99 between Furry Creek and Porteau Cove Provincial Park, in the curvy section of the road, when the driver rounded a corner to find another vehicle traveling southbound in the northbound lane.

The driver of the Toyota, who was pulling a trailer, was forced onto the shoulder and subsequently into the ditch. The driver of the southbound vehicle that had crossed the center line into the northbound lane, did not stop.

The RCMP Sea to Sky Traffic Services is seeking the public’s assistance to identify the southbound vehicle, described as a light colored SUV or Van and its driver. Anyone who may have witnessed this event or has any information is asked to contact the Squamish RCMP at 604-892-6100 referencing file 2017-3654.
