The District of Sechelt is looking for public feedback to help set policies for care facility development.

The District says that as the region’s population ages or resident’s abilities change, demand increases for housing care options that need to meet a range of situations. The Official Community Plan is the framework that guides future development and staff are considering expanding it to include policies or land use designations for different types of care facilities.

Sechelt wants to ensure that there are policy standards set for care facilities whether they are public or private sector. You can have your say on the changes so that developments align with the vision for Sechelt by visiting www.Sechelt.ca and taking part in an online survey.

An open house will also take place September 7th at the Seaside Centre from 4pm to 6pm, as well as an E-Town Hall following the open house at 7pm.
