A phone survey of Whistler residents and second home owners is due to kick-off on January 19th.

It will be the 11th Community Life survey by the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) and conducted by Forum Research Inc. The focus is on municipal operations and services, as well as general aspects of community life.

The RMOW says the survey will take place until 300 full-time residents and 200 part-time residents have been heard from. A web version of the survey will also be available for residents at a later date.

Survey results will be presented to Whistler Council in the spring, and are used for tracking the performance of the RMOW’s Corporate Plan and measuring performance towards the priorities identified in the Whistler2020 Community Comprehensive Sustainability Plan.

2017’s survey revealed that 52% of permanent resident respondents undertook unpaid/volunteer work for a local organization or group in the community. While 16% of second home owners undertook volunteer work. Other results included 78% of seasonal resident respondents believe workforce housing initiatives should be a high priority item for future budget allocation. Results of last year’s survey can be found here.
