The Independent Investigations Office of B.C. (IIO) is looking for a key witness that may have seen an unmarked police vehicle hit a pedestrian last week.

The incident occurred at 10:30 p.m. on March 13th at the intersection of Highway 99 and Garibaldi Way in Squamish.

The IIO has identified a small white hatchback turning right from Garibaldi Way to merge with the southbound lane of Highway 99 at the same time as the unmarked police vehicle struck the pedestrian. The agency believes the occupant of this vehicle could be a potential key witness.
