That’s a wrap! Juno week is officially over. The 2018 Juno Awards, an award ceremony that honours Canadian music achievements, took over Vancouver this past week. The main event was held at Rogers Arena this weekend, hosted by Micheal Bublé. There was an emotional undertone at this years awards. Here are some of the BIG highlights in case you missed it.

The Barenaked Ladies Reunite

The Bakenaked Ladies reunited and sang together to accept their induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.  Former lead vocalist Steven Page performed with the group for the first time since he left the band 9 years ago. The band performed a One Week and If I Had $1,000,00.

Gord Downie Wins Multiple Awards

Gord Downie, the late frontman of The Tragically Hip who passed away in October of brain cancer, was awarded multiple awards. Gord Downie was awarded ‘Artist of the Year’, won ‘Adult Alternative Album of the Year’ posthumously and also shared ‘Songwriter of the Year’ with Kevin Drew. Gord Downie’s brothers Mike and Patrick accepted the awards.

Micheal Bublé Opens Up

Singer Michael Bublé not only hosted the Juno Awards but also performed for the first time after a two-year hiatus from the stage. In 2016 his son Noah, who was three at the time, was diagnosed with cancer. Micheal Bublé took a break from music and the spotlight to focus on his family and Noah’s well being. His wife Luisana Lopilato, is now expecting their third child. He opened the award ceremony with an emotional monologue.
