Ironman Canada is holding public information sessions in the lead up to this year’s event.

Road closures will once again impact traffic in the Sea to Sky region on race day, and it’s important to note that the bike route has changed for 2018. The change was made following the Village of Pemberton’s decision not to support the event’s use of Pemberton Meadows Road.

Two information sessions will be held on June 11th. One for businesses at 2:30 pm and one for residents at 4:30 pm at the Whistler Conference Centre.

Last years race saw approximately 2,900 athletes from 33 countries take part in the event with around 10,000 spectators supporting those participants.

This years Ironman Canada race takes place on Sunday, July 29th in Whistler. A detailed Traffic Impact Guide for residents will be released in the coming weeks.
