A new tourist attraction is coming to Squamish in 2019.

Mamquam Adventures Inc. is developing Squamish Canyon, a proposed destination that addresses what the company calls the Sea to Sky Corridor’s critical lack of engaging, safe, and fun experiences for visitors of all ages.

Squamish Canyon would see an educational eco tour, walk-ways and viewing points integrated into the forest, that also contains programming and community spaces. Founder and Project Lead, Robin Sherry says they want to create more accessibility to locals and visitors while also preserving the area; “we saw a critical lack of safe all weather activities that cater to all ages, for every season, and a need to create a space that facilitates our families and visitors getting outside comfortably in the rain and the dark season that we have a lot of.”

The precise location is being kept under wraps for now, to ensure the public does not try and access the site ahead of its development. Sherry says it has been a 6 year process and that they are hoping to get the business up and running by next summer. The company plans to launch a crowdfunding campaign on FrontFundr this fall.
