The Squamish Minor Hockey Association which has undergone a number of changes recently, has this week announced a new logo is on the way.

Emma Moses, President of the Squamish Minor Hockey Association says the organisation has gone through significant growth in the last 2 years, growing over 10% this season alone. She says a new board means they are working with new individuals to help revitalize the organisation.

One of the new community partnerships is with the Squamish Nation, where Nation elders have opened important events and tournaments, adding excitement and culture to the hockey community.

Moses says Squamish Nation artist Cory Douglas, is working on a new logo for the association; “Our logo is the eagle, and we wanted to better reflect our community, our heritage and our future. By incorporating native art into our logo, that we will wear proudly when our children play games at home and games away”.

Langley currently has a similar logo to Squamish, and Moses says they thought it was timely to look at re-branding.

The new logo will be revealed along with new uniforms for the 2019/20 season.
