The 2020 MTV VMAs go down August 30 inside New York’s Barclays Center and Lady Gaga has been added to the show’s lineup of performers.

MTV nor Gaga have revealed which song(s) will be performed but, considering ‘Rain On Me’ is up for nine nominations, Gaga just might surprise fans with a ‘Rain On Me’ / ‘Stupid Love’ combo.  In an Instagram post revealing the exciting news, Gaga writes, “I’ve been home dreaming of Chromatica, and it’s finally time to take off for the first live performance.”

This will be Gaga’s fourth VMAs performance – her first was back in 2009 when she performed ‘Poker Face’ and ‘Paparazzi.’  In 2011, she shared the stage with Brian May for ‘You and I,’ and in 2013, she opened the show with ‘Applause.’

In total, Gaga has won 13 VMAs and this year, she’s managed to rack up nine nominations: seven are for ‘Rain On Me’ and she’s also up for ‘Artist of the Year’ and ‘Best Quarantine Performance’ for her One World: Together at Home performance of ‘Smile.’

Gaga now joins Doja Cat, BTS, J Balvin, The Weeknd, Maluma, Roddy Ricch and CNCO as the show’s first round of performers.  Actress and singer Keke Palmer will host.
