A Canadian doctor has had a Barbie made in her image, as part of Mattel’s new line of dolls that pay tribute to health care workers on the frontlines of the Covid-19 pandemic!

Physician, poet and advocate, Dr. Chika Stacy Oriuwa is a psychiatry resident at the University of Toronto. She says she hopes the launch of her doll portraying her success as a Black female doctor will inspire kids.

The dolls will not be available for purchase however, only one doll was made for each of the 6 real-life “role models” that inspired them.
