Howe Sound Secondary Courtyard Community Fundraiser

Lene Peleman, French Immersion teacher at HSS was here to tell us more, along with grade 12 students, Katie, Ella and Kat about the initiative to improve the courtyard at HSS. They will present to the Bear's Den, tomorrow night at Eagle Eye Theatre, which is sold out, but you can read more about it and donate at sd48howesound.org. Surveys show that spending time outside and social connection improves mental health and a general sense of wellbeing. We want the students to be able to enjoy a beautiful space outside, covered from rain or sun and surrounded by plants to promote mental health and connection. To promote connection in the community further, this space will also be available to the public to rent for private events. We are raising funds for plants, seating, a sun/rain cover, heating and outdoor games through Eventbrite. So far, the painting of a mural is in progress and the garden beds have been prepped for planting.
