PROSTHESIS: MECH RACING with JONATHAN TIPPETT

In case you missed it, we talked to Jonathan Tippett who is Lead Engineer of the Prosthesis team that created the world's largest exo-skeleton or "Mech" as recognized by Guiness World Book of Records. 14 years in the making along with Senior R&D Engineer, Curtis Perrin and Head Operations Coordinator, Sam Carter. Prosthesis celebrates human skill in a world that is increasingly dominated by automation. For nearly a decade, Tippett devoted all of his spare time, energy and resources to make this dream come true, finally leaving an established career in medical device research to devote himself full time to this project in 2015. The ultimate goal is to race it in a league of mech teams that compete against each other. The kickstarter fundraising campaign to help take Prosthesis further has so far exceeded their $30k goal and is now almost $70k as of 10am September 1st. There is a solid local angle to this incredible project, in case you missed it, check out our conversation with Jonathan.
