The Red Bull 400 is going down at the Whistler Olympic Park, July 13th! This unique race is an all out sprint to to the top of the a ski jump pushing racers endurance with over 400 metres of elevation gain.

You can either race solo or in a relay team!

  • Red Bull 400 is the most extreme and steepest global 400 m uphill sprint and Whistler will host the Global finals this July

WHAT IS RED BULL 400?

  • Red Bull 400 is an uphill sprint
  • Competitors will run up the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Ski Jump
  • Testing both speed and endurance, this race challenges runners to complete 400 metres on a 37 degree incline from the bottom of a dry ski jump, straight to the top
  • Don’t let the simplicity of the concept fool you, close to 1000 participants will push themselves to the limit with this punishing climb up on their hands and knees this July
  • 400m is the length of 4 soccer fields or 600-800 steps
  • Originally invented in Austria in 2011, the event has grown into an international scale competition, drawing in participants from a variety of sporting disciplines and all fitness levels.
  • The 2019 season sees the event expand again to 20 events across 3 continents
  • The World Record for the fastest climb is 2m48s by Jakob Mayer from Austria. The Canadian record is 3:48 by UBC student Keiran Lumb
