Sea to Sky Gondola Autumn Events

Jun 1 - Dec 1

Autumn has arrived at the Sea to Sky Gondola and now is the time to embrace the season’s short, sweet days with brisk hikes and photo walks to capture nature’s last explosions of colour before a thick blanket of white covers the alpine.

The Sea to Sky Gondola is completely accessible and provides the instant reward of Howe Sound views from 885m above sea level once guests reach the summit. For those willing to venture further afield, there is hiking terrain for all levels to explore and panoramic views to discover.

With snowfall already flirting with the mountain tops in the alpine, some other lower elevation hikes to consider this fall include the Shannon Basin Loop, a winding two to three-hour hike that meanders through old growth and younger second growth forest, and affords excellent viewpoints of the Howe Sound, Goat Ridge and Skypilot Mountain. All hikers should only venture into the backcountry if they are prepared and have enough daylight to safely complete their chosen route.

For those that like to hike with a group, The Rise + Climb hiking meet-up on the Sea to Summit Trail continues until October 28. One pace group will depart from the base at 7:30 a.m. from now until October 7 and at 8:00 a.m. from October 14-28. Hikers can also ascend the 7.5 km forested and rocky trail at their own pace to the summit. At the Summit Lodge, a $2 pancake breakfast and complimentary beverage voucher can be had by all Rise + Climb hikers until 10:30 a.m.
