The Whistler Film Festival Society is a charitable organization dedicated to celebrating and advancing the art of film through the annual Whistler Film Festival and Summit complimented by year-round programming and events for film fans and filmmakers.

When the Whistler Film Festival was founded in 2001, it was with the intention to create opportunities for new and original voices to be heard in independent film, to put Whistler on the map as a cultural destination and to promote British Columbia’s burgeoning film industry. The festival has not changed in terms of its purpose, but it has grown way beyond ever imagined in terms of its size, scope and scale.

The Festival’s impact to date has been significant for Whistler, for British Columbia’s film industry, and for Canada’s international reputation in this important art form. Since our inception in 2001, the Whistler Film Festival has proudly presented 1,017 films and 112 awards, attracted and launched some of the top talent of our time, and established a community of over 1,850 filmmaker and industry alumni.
